Two years later, he directed the critically acclaimed Patton. The lead of astronaut George Taylor was played by the late great Charlton Heston. Three years later, Heston would star in The Omega Man. That same year, it was also added to the National Film Registry. The score was composed by Jerry Goldsmith. The films first DVD release was on August 21st, 2001.

Ape City - 1925 Las Virgenes Rd. Calabasas, Ca. 91302
(Malibu Creek State Park)

Ape City was a set constructed at Century Lake. There are no traces of the set today and the area where it stood is now mostly overgrown. The easiest way to reach the location is via High Road trail, which is about a 1.3 mile hike one way. About a mile past Century Lake are the M.A.S.H. filming sites. Also, next to the first parking lot of Malibu Creek State Park is the rest room that was seen near the beginning of Halloween H20. Malibu Creek State Park is a great place to visit for outdoor enthusiasts as well as movie location hunters.

Ending - Cliffside Dr. Malibu, Ca. 90265
(Dume Cove)

The Statue of Liberty scene was also filmed at this location, at the eastern edge of the cove. I wasn't able to make it to that spot on this particular day before the sun set though, unfortunately.
